fine (ie. Sea Salt size)
Instructions
Grind 32 grams of coffee. We are looking for a medium fine grind (think sea salt)
Heat 550 ml of water to temperature per type of coffee. (
Dark roast 185-195, Medium roast 195-200, Light roast 195-203)
Place filter in your chemex. Pre heat the brewer by pouring some hot water over filter. (Discard the water)
Add ground coffee to filter. Shake so the bed is flat.
Set time to 4:00 minutes
Begin first pour (bloom). Continue until 90 grams of water is poured.
Wait till the 30 second mark.
Start 2nd bloom for another 90 grams of water, (180 grams of poured water total should be poured at this point)
wait until the 1 minute mark
Pour 120 grams water (300 grams total) for 1 minute
Pour 100 grams of water (400 total) for 1 minute
Finish by pouring 150 grams of water for 1 minute. Allow to drain completely and remove filter.
Allow coffee to cool at least 10 minutes before serving!
